WHO ARE WE? OUR STORY

We are a natural reserve in Casanare with rustic accommodation near Yopal.

El Encanto de Guanapalo is a natural reserve in Colombia with almost 9 thousand hectares just 110 km away from the city of Yopal, it is formed by the family legacy of our grandfather Gerardo Zambrano and 3 traditional “hatos”, that has worked since 1908 on preserving the natural wealth and the “llanero” culture of Colombian’s Llanos.

Nowadays, Hato Mata de Palma, Hato Altamira and Hato Montana form El Encanto de Guanapalo, and are united on the purpose of continuing to care for the environment and the “llanero” culture in Casanare by means of ecotourism and family work, in the beautiful flooding Savannahs and the gallery forests of Colombia’s Llanos, in San Luis de Palenque, where you can stay in comfortable rooms, enjoy typical local cuisine and live adventure and tradition experiences that you will never forget, like the “Safari Llanero”.

CONSERVE

Since 1908 we have conserved the ecosystem and biodiversity in our territories.

PRESERVE

We have the responsibility to preserve the “llanero” culture and tradition for future generations to enjoy as part of our patrimony.

PROTECT

Our legacy is to protect the intangible heritage of grandpa Gerardo, such as “Nature and Llanero Tradition” that are always present in our “Hatos”.

TEACH

Sustainability comes from teaching this legacy to the next familiar generation, the community of San Luis de Palenque and the people who visit our Natural Reserve El Encanto de Guanapalo.
